Sara and Gareth called last night. They were in town on their day off, catching up on e-mail and such. They will probably be done apple picking a short time after we get to NZ, so we will meet up with them along the way somewhere. They both sounded relaxed and happy. They may even be glad to see their parents. ha-ha. Also, we found out that we will finally meet Roger and Joan, Gareth's parents. They are flying into Christchurch the day before we fly out of Christchurch. We are excited. Also, our friends Deb and Joe, have some friends who live in Christchurch who are going to give us a tour on the day we arrive.
Now, the challenge............ to get everything done before the plane takes off on Sunday :) We are attempting to avoid the all night packing marathons that we are so well know for. The only advantage of being up all night is a more sound sleep on the plane. Our traveling partners Andy and Mary are much more organized than we are. They probably are done packing already. We will try to blog a bit, and add some pictures as we travel around NZ.

April 19th, 2009: Update on the apple picking marathon
Just a quick update. Sara sent an email yesterday stating that they have been picking apples 10 hours a day for 6 days in a row. She said they pretty much just pick apples, eat dinner and sleep. They are raking in the dough!!!! :)
